A word from our newest member of the team!

Well, what can I say, Mark has been with us for just over 4 weeks and already he's succeeded in gaining two roles for two great candidates, with several more in the pipeline - sincerely well done Mark!

In case you're reading wondering who Mark is, here's a word from the man himself!

With 10 years of personal experience within IT, Communications and Technology Sales as both a Senior Technical Sales Executive and as a recruiter, I passionately believe I can offer an excellent level of insight for the best fit candidates for Sales and Technical vacancies.  Through my years of being “on the road” in a B2B role, I truly understand what it takes to thrive and be a success in any sales environment.  I relish a challenge and am a creative problem-solver, enjoying the opportunity to tackle a brief in the most effective way possible.  I always aim to work very closely with my clients and candidates to add real value to the hiring process.
I’ve always taken great personal pride in being honest, having integrity and delivering on promises and this is a key part of our culture here at nu:resourcing.  We consistently aim to give our clients and candidates a truly professional experience by providing honest feedback, guidance and coaching where needed.    I believe that in the current economic climate, we as recruiters need to offer true value and consistency more than ever.  I aim to only ever put forward those candidates who I feel represent the strongest match and will have open and frank discussions with those candidates who may tick the requirements box, but who may not have the style of approach sought by the business or vice versa. I aim to challenge the brief so I can find the very best talent available at all times and I will engage those candidates I believe to be the best match to ensure they are keen and committed to the opportunity.  This focus on a quality-led approach was a key driver for me to join the team at nu:resourcing and has allowed us to maintain a very high CV to interview and interview to placement ratio, ultimately saving our clients' time and money in the hiring process.
Having spent my career in and around technology, I’m a bit of a techno-nut and gadget geek.  I’m sure I bore my colleagues if we start talking about anything to do with the latest technology developments, the latest smartphones, tablets, software, etc, etc !  I’m also a bit of a petrol head and am currently nursing an Alfa Romeo 156 and a Renaultsport Clio 172 Cup back to full health and vibrancy.  I hope to have the Clio back to a healthy enough state to enjoy a track day or two out of it over the next year but time will tell!
In my personal life, I got married in March 2011 to my partner of nearly 12 years and I am a doting father of 2 gorgeous girls, so aside from constantly having to dodge offers of having my nails painted, I’m also a very keen in keeping fit and healthy, particularly swimming at the moment as I’m teaching my eldest daughter how to swim.  As a family, we all enjoy spending time together with our dog, Stephie the Staffy in the local countryside around our home in Northampton and on the odd occasion that my wife and I get a night off from the children we are obsessed foodies and are either out for a meal or cooking up something interesting in the kitchen!
Looking forward to working with you all and further developing the already strong reputation nu:resourcing has built!

All the best for now,
Mark

Happy New Year!

Hello again,

I can't believe it's been over a month since I last wrote anything here!  January has been a real whirlwind of a month whilst we've settled into our new offices in Market Harborough and welcomed our newest staff member.

We're glad to say that Mark is doing well and learning really fast.  It's a bit like getting back on a bike after a few years, eh Mark?   Seriously though, if we can recruit a few more gems like Mark, who really care about giving a great service to their candidates and clients as much as they do about winning business, we'll be very happy! :)

I'm now looking to 'robustify' (this word is courtesy of my days at Capital One) our processes and infrastructure to allow us to grow and hire more great people like Mark and to allow us to expand our business proposition into HR consultancy.    We've also been indoctrinated in all things 'google' .

I'm also about to embark on producing some editorial on all things resourcing and talent - so am busy writing articles in my spare time too! :)  Any tips on creative writing welcomed - as you can tell by this blog, I need them!

And finally, I'd like to say that I'm planning on a bit of sleep every so often, but with all the things buzzing about in my head, there's no chance! :)

Take care for now.

Seasons Greetings - we're Growing and Moving!

I am conscious I've not posted anything for a while now as we've hit another busy spell, not to mention conducting our own recruitment to add to our team.

I'm taking a short breather to thank all our customers, candidates, partners and supporters for helping our business to reach our first birthday as Nu Resourcing Limited.  I'd also like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Well, I'm pleased to say that after months of looking, we've secured some brand new offices in a new-build innovation centre in Market Harborough and will be moving there over the Christmas Period.  We've also just had an offer accepted by our new team member who joins us in January - all will be revealed nearer the time and those of you who we work with regualrly will receive a personalised e mail with more details in the next week or so, but I have to say here that we're so very excited about our next stage of growth.

Amidst the doom and gloom of the economy we never thought our business would be at this stage so soon, but our hard work and service ethic have really paid off.  We never count our chickens and  it's definitely not easy, but our attention to providing an honest and quality service to our customers, combined with a genuine care for our candidates is proving to be a winning strategy - and we're still managing that work life balance we both eagerly sought!    So sincere THANK YOU to all our supporters and friends for helping us to make our first year such a success!  Here's to the next year and beyond!

Diversity Matters

We've recently embarked on a journey with the Clear Company, a leading diversity specialist who are working with a number of organisations large and small to embed good practice in inclusive recruitment, with particular reference to employment of disabled candidates as a starting point.

We have begun the task of reviewing and assessing our own recruitment practices with a view to achieving 'Clear Assured' status, which will give employers and candidates the confidence that our practices are inclusive of disabled candidates.  It's the first step of many, but we're very pleased to be working with such an expert in this arena.
